Week 4 - You Are Called
Two regular people. Two people that would fit in our culture today. Seemingly spiritual and concerned with how they
look to others.
Ananias presented himself well, as being all in like the other disciples, but actually held back. Sapphira knew they had held back, but kept to the plan even when she was given the opportunity to speak truth.
The striking nature of God’s action in this story is one that is never repeated in the New Testament or in the past 2000
years of the church.
God is concerned with our integrity and wholehearted trust, not our ability to appear right or our fear of what others will
think. This story is a warning to all of us, not about generosity but about the state of our hearts.
We need to act and speak with integrity and have
wholehearted trust in the Lord.
WHAT IS ONE POINT OF ACTION FOR YOU AFTER
HEARING THIS SERMON?
